Every person has a God given right to protect themselves from harm, no matter what the source. The U.S Constitution recognizes this right in the Second Amendment. This right extends to all people, regardless of race, religion or creed.
We vehemently disagree with politicians and liberals that this right is only for the rich and privileged. We recognize that obtaining a weapon, buying ammunition, and getting training is expensive. We also recognize that more crime happens in low income neighborhoods and that women are usually viewed as easy victims.
The Safe Mom Project exists to address these problems by giving low income women the means to protect themselves.
The Safe Mom Project is
a charitable organization that provides weapons to low income women. We work with each individual to determine the best weapon and training program we can provide. We do not only train the women, but also teach the children in the about the potential danger of firearms and what they should do if they find one.
There are many non-profit organizations that do good work to help victims. Victim Assistance Programs, Battered Women's Shelters, and Rape Crisis Centers help the victims of crime. Some work to help women avoid becoming a victim. What none of them do is empower women to protect themselves.
The Safe Mom Project's goal is to stop the crime, so women won't need victim assistance. We categorically deny the following maxim of gun control advocates:
The idea that a woman found raped and strangled in her own pantyhose is somehow morally superior to a woman explaining to the police how her attacker ended up with that bullet wound.
